Home 5 Brands 5 Boss

Boss was founded in 1973 in Japan as an effects pedal focused division under the Roland Company. Roland had released pedals before, but they never really made an impact. The first pedal under the Boss moniker was the now iconic CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, but it was when they released the OD-1 Overdrive in 1978 that things really took off. This was the first pedal in the now legendary Boss compact series and it absolutely took the world by storm. Boss also pioneered the digital effect world we now live in, as their DD-2 and RV-2 were the first digital delay and digital reverb in a compact pedal. These sonic footprints have been honed for decades and are still available in their rich lineup through pedals like the RV-6, DD-8, CE-2w and SD-1w

Boss have absolutely created the pillars that the current pedal scene stands on, and with new releases like the DD-200, IR-200, SY-200 and the amazing waza-craft series they continue to show year after year why this world wouldn’t be the same without Boss.

“I think you already know why we carry Boss. It’s a legendary brand and this industry would be nowhere without them and their innovations. My first pedal ever was a Boss pedal (the might Metal Zone), like it probably was for a lot of you as well, and I’m honestly excited every time Boss release a new pedal. A bunch of my all-time favorite pedals are from Boss, like the discontinued PS-3 and Slicer, and currently I use the MS-3 and SY-200 extensively on my board. You just can’t go wrong with Boss!”
